Miriam Rube

Miriam has a long distinguished career in the field of education serving in a variety of organizations both in and around the Jewish independent school community. Miriam began her career at Lehrman Community Day School where she eventually became the school’s Principal. She also was the Headmaster at Tauber Academy and was the founding principal for Ben Gamla Charter School.

Most recently, Miriam served as the Head of School for K12 (which acquired Kaplan Virtual Education), an online school serving over 3,000 children across the United States and around the globe. At K12, she led the adoption of a new instructional design process, which was informed by student achievement data. She also used a research-based pedagogy to create individualized learning plans for each student. Furthermore in this role she promoted best practices for the use of online technology in the classroom.

Throughout her career, Miriam has a proven track record of combining academic excellence, Jewish education and research-based approaches to learning that caters to the needs of each, individual child. Outside of the classroom environment, she has held leadership positions in various educational associations including a three year appointment at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education Principals’ Center Advisory Board.

Miriam joins us at an extremely exciting point for the Beth David/Gordon School community. As we continue with our Vision 2020 campaign to recreate the landscape of our school, we are fortunate to have Miriam as our Interim Principal.
